P.S. Well, the source of this puzzle and many others is this book by T he colossal book of short puzzles and problems by Marin Gardner  and is really wonderful book. (It has solutions too ;) )     Find the solution here.

Puzzle 86 - solution

 Puzzle 86 was  Using only 3 nines and any of the operators +,-,X ,/ and √, can you get the numbers 1, 4 and 6? Solution: The original question in reddit says there are multiple answers. I copied (wink-wink) only one answer. 1 = √(9X9)  / 9 4 = √9 + 9/9 6 =  √(9X9) - √9
