 Solution to puzzle 5:

Let us say goat ate x kgs of wheat. 

Horse eats twice as much as goat => horse ate 2x kgs of wheat.

Cow eats twice as much as horse => cow ate 4x kgs of wheat

Total wheat eaten by all 3= 5kgs


Which means

x+2x+4x = 5

7x = 5

x = 5/7


Goat's owner has to get give 5/7 kgs of wheat to the farmer

Horse ate 2x = 10/7 kgs of wheat. So owner of horse must give 1 3/7 kgs of wheat to the farmer.

Cow ate 4x = 20/7 = 2 6/7 kgs of wheat. So owner of cow must give 2 6/7 kgs of wheat to the farmer . 


Puzzle 6: Water pouring puzzle 

You are given two jugs which can hold 5 liters and 3 liters of water. The jugs do not have any markings on them. You also have access to a water tap from which you can pour as much water as you want. How will measure 2 liters of water using only these two jugs?

 The question was  What is wrong with this proof ? a=b multiply both the sides by a     --1 a2 = ab  add -b2 to both the side           --2 a2-b2 =ab-b2  factorizing                                --3 (a+b)(a-b) = b(a-b)  divide both the sides by (a-b)    ---4 a+b=b Substituting a with b,              ---5 2b = b Dividing both the sides by b    ---6 2 = 1   The problem is with step 4. When a is equal to b, a-b is zero. You can not divide numbers by zero because division is only defined for non-zero numbers.

You have to find the number to unlock it.  And here are the results of various number combinations. 682 - one digit is right and in the right position. 614 - one digit is right but in the wrong position. 206 - two digits are right but both are in the wrong positions. 738 - all digits are wrong. 380 - one digit is right but in the wrong place So what is the correct code to open the lock?
