 The question was Grand mother Stephanie has left some inheritance. She has left half her money to her grand daughter and half of that to her grandson. She has left one sixth of her money to her brother. The remaining 1000$, she has left to dog home. What was her total inheritance?  Solution : 12000$ She gave 1/2 money to grand daughter She gave half of that - 1/4 money to grand son She gave 1/6 money to brother The remaining amount is = 1 - 1/2 - 1/4 - 1/6 = 1- 11/12 = 1/12 Remaining money is 1000 1/12 of M = 1000 M = 12000$

 The question was Tortoiseville and Haretown are 55 miles apart. A rabbit is travelling from Haretown to Tortoiseville at a speed of 8 miles per hour. A tortoise is travelling from Tortoiseville to Haretown at a speed of 3 miles per hour. What distance will the rabbit travel before it meets the tortoise?  Solution : 40 miles Let us say after h hours, both hare and tortoise meet.  In h hours hare travels 8h miles In h hours, tortoise travels 3h miles As they both meet, 8h+3h = 55 11h =55.  h = 55/11 = 5 hours After 5 hours they both meet.  In 5 hours, hare has travelled 5x8 miles = 40 miles

 The puzzle was This puzzle is about a birthday. The day before yesterday I was 25. The next year I will be 28. This is true only one day in a year. What day is my Birthday ?   Solution : Jan 1st  I was born on December  31st. So day before yesterday was December 30 and I was 25. Yesterday was my birthday, so I turned 26. This year on my birthday that is 12 months ahead, I will turn 27. And next year, on my birthday I will turn 28.    e.g. If we were talking on  2021 January 1st, day before yesterday was December 30 2020 and I was 25 years old. Yesterday (of Jan 1st) I turned 26 years old that is on 31st december 2020, I turned 26. On 2021 Dec-31st I will be 27 years old.  And on 31st Dec next year - 2022, I will turn 28 years old.

And so on.  ABCDEFGHI should be divisible by 9 ABCDEFGH must be divisible by 8 ABCDEFG must be divisible by 7 and so on until AB must be divisible by 2 A must be divisible by 1.  And the solution: 381654729

 This puzzle is not quite simple.  Find a number such that it is divisible by 9, and when we remove the right most digit, it will be divisible by 8. When you remove the next right most digit, it will be divisible by 7. And so on.  ABCDEFGHI should be divisible by 9 ABCDEFGH must be divisible by 8 ABCDEFG must be divisible by 7 and so on until AB must be divisible by 2 A must be divisible by 1. In this post, I have very easy puzzles - 3 of them. And I will give away the solutions too. Your parents have 6 sons and each son has one sister. How many people are there in the family? Which four digit no multiplied by itself gives the number in reverse?  If 12X12 = 9,   23X23 is 16  ,  what is 34X34? Solutions : 9 There is one daughter and 6 sons. And father and mother.  2178 2178X4 = 8721 13 Add the digits of the product. 12X12 = 144 ; 1+4+4 = 9 23X23 = 529 ; 5+2+9 = 16 34X34 = 1156; 1+1+5+6 = 13  

The question was A magic rectangular belt always shrinks its length to 1/2 and width to 1/3 whenever its owner wishes something. After three such wishes, its surface is now 4 cm2. What was the original length, if the original width was 9 cm? Solution : 96cm If the original width was 9cm, width after first wish, it is 3cm.  After second wish, the width is 1cm.  After third wish the width is 1/3cm If the area is 4cm2, then the length after 3 wishes is 4/(1/3 ) = 4X3 = 12. After second wish, the length is double of 12 = 24 After first wish, the length is double of 24 = 48. The original length of the belt is double of 48 = 96

The question was The cold tap in my bath lets the water in at the rate of 15 litres per minute. The hot tap fills the bath at the rate of 10 liters per minute. The plug hole lets the water out of the bath at the rate of 12 liters per minute. The bath holds a maximum of 520 liters. I turn both taps on, but forget to put the plug in. How many minutes does it take for the bath to overflow? Solution :  40 minutes If both the taps are turned on, water inlet to the bath is       15+10 = 25 liters per minute The water going out of plughole = 12 liters per minute So per minute the water getting added to bath is 25-12 = 13 liters The time taken to fill the bath will be 520/13 = 40 minutes
